For my grandson, Willy, born with a congenital heart defect.
He had his first surgery when he was two years old. He's now nine. Willy has been to Boston Children's Hospital three times in a month. He had a lung scan, MRI of the heart, stress test, etc. He now has a monitor so that if he has chest pain it's phoned in to Boston Children's. He's scheduled for a cardiac catheterization Feb. 23. This test will determine when his next surgery will be. He'll need another open heart surgery, including an Aortic Valve replacement. Also, if anyone would like to send Willy a little e-mail they can send it to my address jragamuffin(at)aol.com. I intend to give him all his e-mails after his surgery to let him see that all these people had been praying for him. My daughter just started the "Miles for Miracles" if anyone would like to donate. Orissa, India. YWAM Prayer Request
Please join us in prayer for these precious people in this terrible persecution.
This is a request for prayer for YWAM missionaries and their churches in Orissa, India. The request came from Mable Hurst, an associate of HCJB Global. Please read and make this a matter of urgent prayer. Dear beloved sponsors and friends of Good News India. We have never seen anything like this. We knew that Orissa was the most resistant and hostile State in India as far as the Gospel is concerned. And we brushed off the continuous threats and harassment we faced as we went about His work. But none of our staff imagined that they would see this kind of carnage.... And it seems to be totally under the radar of the Western Media....
Let me explain..... A militant Hindu priest and 4 of his attendants, who were zealously going around the villages of Orissa and 'reconverting' people back to Hinduism, were gunned down by unknown assailants in Central Orissa last weekend. Immediately the Christians were blamed. The cry rose up...'Kill the Christians!' And the horror began.... In the past 4 days, we have first hand witness to hundreds of churches being blown up or burned and many, many dozens of Christian tribals have been slaughtere for no other reason than they bear the name of Christ. Night and day I have been in touch with our Good News India Directors spread across 14 Dream Centers in Orissa... they are right in the middle of all this chaos. In Tihidi, just after the police came to offer protection, a group of 70 blood-thirsty militants came to kill our staff and destroy the home. They were not allowed to get in, but they did a lot of damage to our Dream Center by throwing rocks & bricks and smashing our gate, etc. They have promised to come back and 'finish the job.'
Our kids & staff are locked inside & have stayed that way with doors and windows shut for the past 3 days. It has been a time of desperately calling on the Lord in prayer. More police have come to offer protection. In Kalahandi, the police and some local sympathizers got to our dream center and gave our staff and kids about 3 minutes notice to vacate. No one had time to even grab a change of clothes or any personal belonging. As they fled, the blood thirsty mob came to kill everyone in the building. We would have had a mass funeral there, but for His grace. In Phulbani, the mob came looking for Christian homes and missions. The local Hindu people, our neighbors turned them away by saying that there were no Christians in this area. So they left.. We had favor. The same thing happened in Balasore.
All our dream centers are under lock down with the kids and staff huddled inside and police outside. The fanatics are circling outside waiting for a chance to kill. Others were not so fortunate. In a nearby Catholic orphanage, the mob allowed the kids to leave and locked up a Priest and a computer teacher in house and burned them to death. Many believers have been killed and hacked into pieces and left on the road.... even women and children. At another orphanage run by another organization, when this began, the Director and his wife jumped on their motorbike and simply fled, leaving all the children and staff behind. Every one of our GNI directors that I have spoken to said: 'We stay with our kids.... we live together or die together, but we will never abandon what God has called us to do.' More than 5000 Christian families have had their homes burned or destroyed. They have fled into the jungles and are living in great fear waiting for the authorities to bring about peace. But so far, no peace is foreseen.
This will continue for another 10 days.... supposedly the 14 day mourning period for the slain Hindu priest. Many more Christians will die and their houses destroyed. Many more churches will be smashed down. The Federal government is trying to restore order and perhaps things will calm down. We ask for your prayers. Only the Hand of God can calm this storm. None of us know the meaning of persecution. But now our kids and staff know what that means. So many of our kids coming from Hindu backgrounds are confused and totally bewildered at what is happening around them. So many of their guardians have fled into the jungles and are unable to come and get them during these trying times.
Through all this, I am more determined than ever to continue with our goal: the transformation of a community by transforming its children. Orissa will be saved... that is our heart's cry. If we can take these thousands of throw-away children and help them to become disciples of Jesus, they will transform an entire region. It is a long term goal, but it is strategic thinking in terms of the Great Commission.
What can you do? First, please uphold all this in fervent prayer. Second, pass this e-mail on to as many friends as you can. We must get the word out and increase our prayer base for this is spiritual warfare at its most basic meaning. We are literally fighting the devil in order to live for His Kingdom. The next 10 days are crucial. We pray for peace and calm to pervade across Orissa.

Tinnitus
Hi Christian Fellow Worshippers
I have suffered from serious Tinnitus for a period of 12 years. This was as a result of a drug named Garamycin which I believe was administered unnecessarily by a physician. The ringing in the ears is permanent and I believe at times I am under attack or siege by the devil, as it steals my peace. It is stressful and has a snowball effect which causes tension and spasms on my shoulders, leading to serious neck pain.
Know that I will not give in to the devil and I wish for a miracle that our Lord and Saviour will heal all Tinnitus Sufferer’s and all Christians throughout the world that need healing. You prayers will be highly appreciated!
By the way South Africa is a great place to be in as we are experiencing a Christian Revival in our country. I believe this is an international trend! God is gathering his people!!

Please pray for my friend
I am praying for all those on this page. I ask that you pray for my friend Shane. He had a bout of bad luck and is trying to get back on his feet. He is again facing obstacles that he needs to break through and I ask that we pray for him to find a way to make his situation better. I don’t want to sound selfish, but he needs a car so he can better his work situation and so we can hopefully get married and start a family of our own. The company that is financing him is giving him a run around. Please help me pray that he finds a way around this. God bless you all.

Spine operation

I wish to request prayers for CS, a long-time friend of my family. A number of girls and women likely know her and of her given her decades of work with Camp Kallalla and CGIT in the Ottawa area. She has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She is resting at home with her husband, children and grandchildren nearby. Please pray for strength and peace for her in this time. Please pray for her husband to find the strength with the forthcoming loss of his wife and companion. Pain
I have been in unbearable pain for most of the past two weeks. I went back to using the crutches around two weeks ago, each step was hurting to take because of my right hip from what's wrong in it. At the same time the scar tissue from my incision last fall started going flat. It was about a 4 mm or 3/16" hump on my skin. Within four days of using my crutches to walk I started loosing the strength that had been rebuilding in my left hip. I am forced to walk with my cane or else over time I am going to use the left hip. I need it to be strong for my right hip surgery. It has been nearly unbearably painful to walk my cane all day long to build up the strength in my left hip. Now that I am typing this I am thinking I may be able to alternate between my cane and crutches each day. So I may have just figured out the answer. Anyways I was in the hospital Wednesday August 6th. I ended up severely constipated as a side effect of the pain killers from what I described above. The scar tissue breaking down during this time has added extra pain. I had figured for a few weeks while I go through this stage of the healing it didn't matter if I was maxing out per day on what the doctor told me I am allowed to have. While I was in the hospital they checked every major organ in my body because of the extended use of the pain medications. Ironicially my organs couldn't be doing better. The ER doctor was amazed. I am almost ready to pull my hair out tonight. I need the pain in my hips to go down again so I can get through this part of my left hip healing. There has been 4 or 5 times when it has got bad. Please pray for the Lord to send His comfort. I need a break from dealing with this for a bit.

BACKGROUND .....Civil unrest in Kenya erupted after Mwai Kibaki was declared winner of the country's presidential elections that took place on December 27, 2007. The anger stems from reports that the vote counting was rigged by the electoral. Tribal violence occurred mainly in areas like the Nairobi Slums, Nyanza Province, the Rift Valley and the Coast.
According to the United Nations, more than 250,000 Kenyans are now estimated to have been displaced by rioting and looting that accompanied the result of the Dec. 27 election. The U.N. said that in total, between 400,000 and 500,000 people had been affected by the unrest. Around 600 people are reported to have died. (CNN)

PRAYER POINTS
Pray for the leaders of Kenya.
Pray that they will make decisions and actions that bring about a permanent end to the ethnic, economic and social problems Kenya is experiencing.
Pray that they (Kibaki and Odinga) will agree to an interim solution

Many religious leaders from all faiths lead the nation in prayer to help end the suffering and to heal the wounds of hatred that is ripping their country apart. Pray that God will restore humility and brokenness in church leadership to work together in love as one body in the land.
Pray that the church will stand on the side of truth and justice even when it hurts.

Pray for aid for unfortunate brothers and sisters who lost their homes and livelihoods
Pray for comfort for those who have lost loved ones and homes, for those separated from family, and for those that are having difficulty finding food and safe shelter.

Pray for wisdom and strength for Kenyan Christians, nationals and expatriates, who have opportunities to minister to friends who are hurting
Pray that miraculously all the tensions will be defused and healing will begin.
May God “hear our prayers and heal Kenya” (2 Chron 7:14) We truly believe that change will come only with God's intervention and men and women truly turning to him and relying upon him at this time

Tinnitus
I am requesting prayer for my tinnitus which has been driving me crazy for about 29 years. It is difficult to sleep and causes anxiety. At night it is not nice and I am not at peace with the noise. God knows that I don't want it, and that it's not nice, and I am expecting to be free from it some day when God knows the time is correct. Lord I desperately need your healing touch.

As for my health brother my eyes have been giving me problems but it's apparently caused by migraine but still to make sure of this, the final test is a full body M.R.I at the general hospital tomorrow at 6:00pm that will last 20 minutes. of course because I will be exposed to the radiation of the M.R.I. for 20 minutes, there is concern that it could be too much for my immune system but they don't really have a choice. I have been sick lately with a virus that causes my fever to go extrememly high but it seems to be under control but I would be more that blessed that you put me on the Alpha prayer list for my remission not to be compromised by the radiation from the 20 minutes M.R.I., for the virus to be gone for good, & also for my heart which has been giving me problems lately. I do have nitro to take when I experience chest pain.

For a mother
I ask a healing prayer for my mother. She is 69 years old and not ready to go home yet. She had her bladder removed for cancer. They got all the cancer but she cannot seem to get well she has been hospilized 3 times since her surgery and cannot get her strength back. Tinnitus
I wonder if I might ask you to pray for me. I was reading on your site about someone who suffered as I do with tinnitus. I have this ringing in my left ear and it drives me batty. I know God must have some reason for it, but I firmly believe that if I ask Him through Christ our Lord, that in His time He will alleviate this suffering. I am currently writing a book on my sufferings that is inspired by God to help other people. Even if this ringing could be tuned down a little I would appreciate that from God. I pray every night myself, but I figured a little help could never hurt. I hope you will pray for me that I might recover. Thank you so much for reading my email!
