An Ecumenical Praise and Prayer Service to pray for Alpha and for Canada will take place at Manotick United church on Sunday, August 21, 7 p.m. This service has been organized by the Alpha coordinators of the Anglican, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, and United churches. Everyone is welcome whether they have taken the Alpha course or not. Child care will be provided downstairs while the service is on.
The following is a prayer that you can personally use for Canada and Alpha but don’t be limited by this prayer. Pray also as the Holy Spirit leads you.
Dear God, Canada was established that “You might have dominion from sea to sea” but so many people here don’t know You yet and have no concept of the Great Love You have for them. We long to see our friends and neighbours come into a relationship with You. We long to see the Name of Jesus held up like a banner across this land. Please help us to make You known to our fellow Canadians from coast to coast. Please make our hearts bold to share Your love and make their hearts soft to receive You and love. We pray in Jesus name. Amen
The national Alpha organization is sending out a written prayer each week for Alpha and Canada which you can use in your daily prayers. If you would like to receive this prayer, please let me know and I will forward it to you.
The next ecumenical Alpha course in Manotick will begin on Wednesday, September 21 with dinner at 6:30 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian church. An introductory dinner will take place on Sunday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m. also at Knox. We have attached a brochure which you can print off and give to family members or friends who are interested in taking Alpha.
