Subject: Why Jesus?

Hello Ray,

I hope you remember talking to me at Bramalea Baptist Church during missions week. I spoke to you about a young boy who is now at Syll Apps (a Toronto youth assessment centre) and has been asking a lot of questions.

I sent him a copy of the little purple booklet you had on display at the conference entitled "Why Jesus". Well he really enjoyed it and actually said the prayer at the end. He used his one phone call the next day to phone me and tell me what he had done, just like the book told him to do.

When I asked him if he understood what he had done by saying that prayer he responded by explaining that he is now a Christian, and wants God's help to be a better person. He has so many questions still about the Bible. I sent him a picture Bible as I thought it would be easier for him to understand the "stories" as he has not been to church very much. He has now loaned that Bible to one of the other boys as this other boy really does not read too well. I brought him "The Message" Bible and he is really enjoying it. He has been talking to the Chaplain there and is going to start playing the guitar in the chapels.

There's nothing wrong with Christianity. It just hasn't been tried that much in the last 2000 years...
