Kanata Community Alpha
In January 2002, following the September 2001 "Let's Go to Church" month and the Ottawa Alpha Conference, three church Kanata Alpha courses
(Anglican, United & Presbyterian) joined forces to run Alpha and Beta courses for the community.
After a break of a couple of years when the course leadership ran other courses in Kanata and elsewhere, we are coming back to the Mlacak Centre Hall D for a course starting
Monday 16 January 2012, almost 10 years to the day after our first course. We will break new ground by using the new 7 week video series instead of the previous 11 week video series. There will be an
introductory night - Why Christmas? - at O'Connors pub in the Kanata Centrum, on 12 December 2011, starting 6:30 pm.

2003 National Initiative introductory dinner 19 September 2003
In the third century Cyprian, the Bishop of Carthage, wrote to his friend Donatus, "It is a bad world, Donatus, an incredibly bad world.
But I have discovered in the midst of it a quiet and holy people, who have learned a great secret. They have found a joy which is a thousand times better than any of the pleasures of our sinful life.
They are despised and persecuted, but they care not. They are masters of their souls. They have overcome the world.
These people, Donatus, are Christians...and I am one of them."
If you have repented of your sins and have received Christ as Saviour, then you, too, are one of them.
Today, Lord God, I remember all those Christians who have gone before me and thank you for the inspiration of their memory. May I never take for granted the heritage I have in Jesus Christ.
